About the event
We are thrilled to announce that the ARM Cuauhtémoc, Mexico’s iconic Navy training ship, will arrive at Aloha Tower on Friday, August 7, at 10:00 a.m. You are warmly invited to attend the opening ceremony and help us welcome the ship’s captain, crew, and naval cadets to Hawaiʻi.
Known as Mexico’s Ambassador and Knight of the Seas, the Cuauhtémoc has sailed around the world since 1982, training generations of future Mexican naval officers while carrying a message of peace, friendship, and goodwill to every port it visits. The ship serves as a floating naval academy and is one of Mexico’s most recognized symbols abroad.
This arrival is especially meaningful. Honolulu will be the ship’s first international port of call during its first major training voyage since the tragic May 2025 accident in New York, in which two members of its naval family lost their lives and others were injured. Its return…
