This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit, become a member, register for an event, donate, or otherwise interact with https://www.hcchawaii.org (the "Site"), operated by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Hawaii ("HCCH," "we," "us," or "our").

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as "Device Information."

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

  • Cookies are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.

  • Log files track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

  • Web beacons, tags, and pixels are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.

  • Session replay and heatmap tools (such as Microsoft Clarity) record general session activity — clicks, scrolls, and mouse movements — to help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.

  • Advertising and conversion pixels (such as the Meta/Facebook Pixel and Google Ads tags) help us measure the effectiveness of our outreach and show relevant content to people who have visited the Site.

Additionally, when you apply for or renew a membership, register for an event, purchase tickets or sponsorships, make a donation, sign up for our newsletter, or submit a contact or inquiry form through the Site, we collect information from you, which may include your name, business or organization name, billing address, mailing address, payment information (including credit card numbers processed through our third-party payment processors), email address, phone number, job title, industry, and any optional information you choose to provide (such as professional bio, demographic information, or event preferences). We refer to this information as "Member & Transaction Information."

When we talk about "Personal Information" in this Privacy Policy, we are referring to both Device Information and Member & Transaction Information.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We use the Member & Transaction Information that we collect generally to:

  • Process membership applications, renewals, event registrations, ticket purchases, sponsorships, and donations (including processing payments and providing receipts, invoices, or confirmations);

  • Communicate with you about your membership, registrations, events, programs, and chamber business;

  • Send you newsletters, announcements, and information about HCCH programs, events, advocacy efforts, and partner opportunities (when you have opted in to receive them);

  • Screen transactions for potential risk or fraud;

  • Maintain accurate records of our membership and donor base; and

  • Connect members with one another through directories, networking events, and chamber programming (only where you have agreed to be listed).

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how visitors browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and outreach campaigns). We also use Device Information to deliver and measure targeted advertising and remarketing on third-party platforms.
